I have eaten one of Mummies curtains. Not the whole thing, I hasten to add, only about 2 feet.

Daddy says that I am deranged and Mummie swore at me because this is not the first time I have done it and these curtains are (were) more expensive than the last but at least I did not eat the lining too this time ( it does not have any flavour). She now concurs with Daddy's view that I am a net drain on the family finances and is trying to find out where the nearest dog psychologist lives. Personally, I didn't really enjoy the curtain much but once I started to nibble I just couldn't control myself, chewing is a natural reflex and inherent trait in Labradors, we never lose it, no matter what age we are and therefore it is not my fault. They should be trying to help me, not lecture me on the gravity of my misdemeanours but to be honest she also caught me in the feed bin (which I had had to tip over to access) and so I suppose it is a fair cop.

I have been for a lovely walk today in the bluebells. First of all we had to struggle with the brown pony, or Damien as she now calls him. Having gone to the expense of the fencer(Daddy's expense, that is) and shiny new fences Damien has spent all of 10 seconds in his newly created mini paddock. It is mini in an attempt to stop him gorging himself on the spring grass and getting sore feet in the process. Here is a transcript of last nights shenanigans. Mummie: Damien, look at this gorgeous new paddock, you are right next door to Tooty, isn't that nice? Damien: You must be bloody joking, there is hardly any grass in here and I refuse to remain here for another second. Damien then very stylishly took a 4 metre run and cleared the fence, narrowly missing Mummie and proceeded to munch away just out of her reach and with total disregard to the puce colour of her face and the funny line sticking out on her forehead. She said, very quietly, that Damien is not going to like Plan B and whatever it is I am sure he will not. Mummie does not go quiet very often.

Here are two pictures of me looking gorgeous. I have planted my bone underneath this jasmine to prevent further pilfering as the others are too thick to find it there. The swallows arrived this evening so summer has officially come - for today at least.
