So. I am in disgrace. Well. As far as I am concerned, it is Mummie who should be in disgrace, not me. I will admit that I went for a bit of a wander last night and came home the circuitous route ( via the dead sheep). And what did I find? My bed dumped in a heap outside the back door. I woofed for a bit there was no response and the lights were out. Have you any idea how uncomfortable it is to sleep outside a door in October? And then this morning, I was completely ignored inspite of the effusive welcome I gave her when she opened the back door. Daddy said I was probably up all night drinking gin with the foxes. Ha, Ha, this Basil Brush joke is wearing a bit thin. This afternoon we all went for a walk and I found another dead sheep which had been stupid enough to be standing under a tree when it came down. Daddy calls this "natural selection". Mummie said she is giving her vets bill to the grazier in an attempt to educate him into picking up his fallen stock. She is in a right mood as I found out when I climbed out of the water trough and attempted to gain access to the house. She says she is fed up with "passengers". As a net drain on the family resources I have allegedly to stay out in the kennel until I can learn to mop floors!! Can you imagine it, I am having to slum it with the other two, who were removed to the kennel after the Dyson incident. At least I had a brief spell in front of the Aga this morning and managed half a pound of butter, a packet of love hearts (although this went down badly with Grace) and the remainder of the Butlers Irish chocolates that Mabel brought back from Dublin. This should keep me going for a short spell although I feel sure that this may be my last installment for a while because Mummie has that odd "don't mess with me" look in her eye. I hope that the gardener notices it tomorrow because I don't fancy his chances if he brings wet wood round again. It is probably for the best that I am out of the way for a few days.
Should anything happen to me, this is how I would like to be remembered,
